The Story Behind the Flavor

What we're all about

El Koreano was born from a shared dream between chefs Michael Shin and Sean Pals, who have spent decades in the culinary world honing their craft and pushing creative boundaries.

Michael Shin, former Executive Chef of ACT 3 Catering/El Koreano and now Director of Catering at Twelve Baskets Catering, brings a deep-rooted passion for food shaped by his Korean heritage and years of hands-on experience in fast food, fine dining, and large-scale events. Sean Pals is a seasoned chef and hospitality professional with over 20 years in the industry. With a love for inventive cuisine and seamless service, he now oversees operations as the Northwest Director of Catering for ACT 3 Catering, El Koreano and Twelve Baskets Catering.

Together with Chef Mario Enriquez (now Executive Chef at ACT 3 Catering/El Koreano) Michael developed a menu that’s bold, flavorful, and entirely original. Combining Michael’s background in Korean cuisine with Mario’s roots in Hispanic flavors, they created crave-worthy dishes like our signature Korean Fried Chicken Torta, a perfect blend of Korean BBQ elements and Mexican comfort food.

We use fresh, locally sourced ingredients and work with passionate, experienced chefs to deliver meals that are not only delicious but also memorable. El Koreano is all about bringing people together through bold fusion and vibrant hospitality.
